What is the difference between a Texas Handgun License, a License to Carry and a Concealed Handgun License?

They are actually the same thing. A handgun license in Texas is referred to as a License to Carry, or LTC for short. Prior to 2015, before the Texas state government allowed open gun carry in Texas, it was referred to as a concealed handgun license or commonly known as a CHL for short.

So when reading on the internet or taking your training class online, note that a handgun license in Texas is now called a license to carry, or LTC for short. Its called a license to carry due to the fact that you can use it to carrying your gun openly or concealed. When it was a called a concealed handgun license, was when the code in Texas only allowed for concealed carry with a license.

Now that we've got that covered, let's jump right in on How to get your Handgun License in Texas.
